Biography
Thomas Snow, born Thomas Righter Snow on October 25, 1947, in Princeton, New Jersey, is an American singer and songwriter. He studied at the Berklee College of Music. Initially aiming to be a jazz pianist, Snow shifted his focus towards songwriting. In 1975, he released his first album You. He received his first BMI Airplay Award in 1977 for the song "You", which he wrote for Rita Coolidge. Throughout the 1980s, Snow collaborated with numerous artists, including Olivia Newton-John and Dolly Parton. He composed music for films such as Footloose (1984) and earned two Oscar nominations in 1985 and 1990 for "Letâs Hear It for the Boy" and "After All", respectively. Snow's work has been recognized with multiple awards, including a BMI Airplay Award and the Robert J. Burton Award for the Most Performed Country Song of the Year in 1986.
