Thomas Henry Corra, known professionally as Tom Cora, was an American cellist and composer. Cora performed as a drummer and guitarist before beginning cello studies at the University of Virginia. In 1979, Cora moved to New York City and collaborated with artists including Eugene Chadbourne and John Zorn. Cora co-founded the art rock band Curlew (1979) and the group Skeleton Crew (1982), which released the albums Curlew (1981) and Learn to Talk (1984). Cora also performed with the trio Third Person (1990) and collaborated with the band The Ex on the album Scrabbling at the Lock (1991). Other recordings include the release Etymology (1997) with Fred Frith. Cora died in 1998.
