Rock singer and guitarist Tobias Regner â born August 5, 1982, in Teisndorf, Bavaria, Germany â is best known as the winner of the third season of the talent competition show Deutschland sucht den Superstar in March 2006. His career began shortly after graduating from the University of Salzburg when he auditioned for Season Three of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, Germanyâs version of American Idol / Pop Idol. Not only did he pass the audition, Tobias Regner was voted as the winner of the season on March 18, 2006. That same week, his single âI Still Burnâ was released, entering the charts at Number 1 in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. He released his debut album, Straight, which rose to Number 1 on the German Albums chart. However, the single âSheâs Soâ barely squeaked into the Top 40. He released the albums Kurz unsterblich (2010), Akustisch (2011), Besser Jetzt (2013), and Ohne Netz und doppelten Boden (2015) but he never achieved the same level of success as he had with his debut album.
