Biography
Todor "Toše" Proeski, born on January 25, 1981, in Prilep, SR Macedonia, SFR Yugoslavia, was a Macedonian singer and songwriter. He started performing at age 12 and gained acclaim for his vocal abilities after winning the Melfest festival in 1996. His rise to fame included performances at festivals like MakFest and hits such as "Usni na usni" and "Sun in Your Blonde Hair". In 1999, he released his debut album Nekade vo nokjta. He represented Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with "Life", finishing 14th. He became a UNICEF national goodwill ambassador in 2004 and recorded "Za ovoj svet" as the UNICEF anthem. He released the album Igri bez granici in August 2007, prior to his death on October 16, 2007, in a car crash in Croatia. His album The Hardest Thing was released posthumously in 2009.
