Throw Rag, an American punk rock band from Salton Sea, California, was formed in 1993 with Sean Wheeler on vocals, Roger "Chino" Smith on drums, and Dan "Scorcho" Lapham on rhythm guitar. The group began performing at local venues such as Rhythm and Brews in Indio, California. Their debut album, Tee-Tot, was released in 1999 on Hellnote Records. In 2003, Throw Rag released Desert Shores on BYO Records, receiving critical acclaim for its punk rock sound. The band starred in Kung Fu Films' episode of The Show Must Go Off! in 2004. Subsequent albums included 13 Ft. And Rising (2005), which featured collaborations with Keith Morris and Jello Biafra, and 2nd Place (2008). Throw Rag is known for their energetic live performances and blending of rockabilly, punk rock, psychobilly, and sailor rock elements.
