This Wild Darkness is a project bringing together musicians from various backgrounds and bands: Arion Salazar is known as a member of Third Eye Blind, Chuck Bartels is a studio and touring guitarist for Sturgill Simpson or June Star, Jeff Schroeder comes out of his experience with The Smashing Pumpkins, Roman Molino Dunn is known as a film composer and sound engineer, Jack Hues' pedigreee spans from Wang Chung in the 1980s to the Free Range Orchestra via Strictly Inc, Scotti Hill has played with Skid Row since its formation, Tommy Marz is a songwriter and Slim Gambill has accompanied Lady Antebellum. Having crossed paths in the studio and on the road, the band decided to pool their know-how to form This Wild Darkness and record the tracks "Dawn Rider" and "The Wild Darkness", the prelude to the EP The Notorious Memphis Rain (2024), a mix of electric blues and acoustic pop-rock that reached #4 in the US blues charts.
