Theo Tyson Tams is a Canadian singer and songwriter born on July 12, 1985, in Lethbridge, Alberta. He reached wider visibility after winning the sixth season of the television program Canadian Idol in September 2008. Tams released the winner's single "Sing" (2008) and performed on a national tour with contestants Mitch MacDonald and Drew Wright. His recording career began with the debut studio recording Give It All Away (2009) released by Sony Music Canada, for which he co-wrote seven songs. The work included the single "Lazy Lovers" (2009). Tams released the charity single "Christmas Dream" (2008), which peaked at number 69 on the Canadian Hot 100. He was the first openly gay performer to win an Idol series in North America. His discography included the studio recording Back Pocket (2014), the studio recording Call The Doctor (2018), and the studio recording Trilogy 1 (2021).
