Biography

The Twins were founded in West Berlin in 1980. The band consists of Ronny Schreinzer (January 7, 1959 in Berlin) and Sven Dohrow (August 30, 1966 in Berlin). They are a German synth-pop duo that is considered one of the formative formations of international synth-pop in the 1980s. From 1981, Ronny Schreinzer and Sven Dohrow released their first singles and developed an electronic sound that was based on British synth-pop but remained consistently in English. The band's breakthrough came in 1983 with the single "Ballet Dancer". In the same year, the debut album A Wild Romamce (1983) was released and entered the German album charts. This is followed by Until the End of Time (1985), which consolidates the band's international success. Other albums include Hold On To Your Dreams (1987) and The Impossible Dream (1993). In the 2010s, the band released further studio albums, including Living for the Future (2018).
