Cowboys International were a British new wave and synthpop band formed by vocalist and songwriter Ken Lockie. In 1978, while living with Keith Levene (ex-The Clash), Lockie and Levene recorded a demo tape that attracted record labels. The band signed with Virgin Records by the end of 1978 and released their debut single "Thrash" in 1979. Their first album, The Original Sin, was released later that year. The band toured extensively throughout 1979 and 1980, supporting acts like Penetration and Fischer-Z. Cowboys International disbanded in 1980. After the band's split, Lockie released the albums Revisited in 2003 and The Backwards Life Of Romeo 2004, which featured original material.
