Biography

Solace, an American heavy metal band from Asbury Park, New Jersey, was formed in 1996 by Tommy Southard and Rob Hultz. The duo had previously been part of the metal band Godspeed before reforming as Solace with Jason, former singer of Glueneck. Their debut release was a self-titled 7-inch single in 1998, followed by their first full-length album Further in April 2000. The band's second album, 13, released in February 2003, featured guest vocals from Scott Weinrich on the track "Common Cause" and included the song "Indolence", which appeared on the soundtrack of the video game Tony Hawk's Underground. In June 2010, Solace released their third album, A.D., which received critical acclaim, being voted "Best Metal Album of 2010" by iTunes. Despite facing numerous setbacks, including lineup changes and health issues, Solace continued to release music, with their album All Alone coming out in March 2023.
