Biography

The Pizza Underground was an American comedy rock band from New York City that formed in 2013. The ensemble consisted of Macaulay Culkin, Matt Colbourn, Phoebe Kreutz, Deenah Vollmer, and Austin Kilham. They are famous for parodying the songs of the Velvet Underground with pizza-themed lyrics. Their first recording was a demo released (2014), and they later released a music video featuring the songs “All Pizza Parties” (2014) and “Pizza Gal” (2014). In 2014, they conducted a North American tour titled Fresh to Your Door and released the live recording Live at Chop Suey (2014). The group disbanded in 2018.
