The Pinkees were an English power pop band from Basildon, Essex. The group consisted of Paul Egholm (vocals, guitar), Andy Price (vocals, guitar), Max Reinsch (guitar, keyboards), Nevil Kiddier (bass), and Paul Reynolds (drums). Prior to forming The Pinkees, Price and Kiddier were members of Glyder, which had appeared on Top of the Pops in 1976. The band released their debut single "Gonna Be Lonely Again" in 1982, followed by "Danger Games", which reached Number 8 on the UK Singles Chart and earned them appearances on BBC TV programs such as Top of the Pops and Pebble Mill at One. However, the single's chart run led to suspicions of chart-hyping, resulting in the British Market Research Bureau suspending a member of staff for misconduct. The Pinkees released their self-titled debut album Pinkees on Creole Records in September 1982. Their subsequent singles included "Holding Me Tight" (1982) and "I'll Be There" (1983). Paul Egholm passed away in April 2017 after being diagnosed with cancer.
