The Midwest Beat was an American Americana, country rock, and folk rock band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formed in 2005. The group gained traction with their self-released double 7-inch EP The Midwest Beat (2008) and the single "Bring the Water" (2009). Their debut album At the Gates was released in 2009 under Duck on Monkey Records. The band's subsequent albums included Gone Not Lost (2011), Free of Being (2014), and Incantations (2020). Other notable releases included the single "Back to Mono" (2011) and the split cassette Belladonna (2009) with The Cave Weddings. The Midwest Beat toured Europe three times and released numerous EPs and singles. The band disbanded in 2018.
