Biography
The JaneDear Girls were an American country music duo composed of Susie Brown from Alpine, Utah, and Danelle Leverett from Amarillo, Texas; both served as vocalists and multiâinstrumentalists, with Brown handling mandolin, fiddle, bass, guitar, and accordion and Leverett contributing guitar, banjo, and harmonica. The pair met at a Nashville songwriterâs concert, were introduced by Kris Bergsnes, and subsequently signed to Warner Music Group Nashvilleâs Reprise label in 2010, where they were mentored by John Rich. Their debut single, "Wildflower", released in March 2010, reached number 15 on the Hot Country Songs chart and marked the duoâs breakthrough. In 2011 the group released their selfâtitled album The JaneDear Girls on February 1, which produced singles such as "Shotgun Girl" (peaking at number 36) and "Merry Go Round" (number 44). The duo received Academy of Country Music nominations in early 2011 for Top Vocal Duo and Top New Vocal Duo or Group, though the awards went to other acts. On January 31, 2012, they issued the digital single "Good Girls Gone Bad" for the ABC drama GCB soundtrack. Midâ2012 saw the pair part ways; Brown announced a solo project with producer James Stroud, while Leverett coâwrote Big & Richâs 2012 single âThatâs Why I Prayâ and later pursued a solo career as Nelly Joy, joining the band Gone West in 2019.
