Biography
The Hanging Stars is a British "cosmic country" and psychedelic folk band based in London. Formed by singer-songwriter and guitarist Richard Olson (formerly of The See See and The Eighteenth Day of May), the band also includes Sam Ferman (bass), Paulie Cobra (drums), Patrick Ralla (guitar, keyboards, vocals), and Joe Harvey-Whyte (pedal steel guitar). Their sound blends West Coast country-rock, folk, crystal-clear psychedelia, and Americana. Their discography includes the studio albums Over the Silvery Lake (2016), Songs for Somewhere Else (2018), A New Kind of Sky (2020), Hollow Heart (2022), and On a Golden Shore (2024). In 2025, the band teamed up with Canadian singer and musician Bonnie Dobson for the album Dreams. The Hanging Stars then followed up with the album Just A Day, released in 2026.
