Biography
The Golddiggers, a female singing and dancing troupe, were created for The Dean Martin Show in 1968. The group debuted on the show and quickly gained popularity, leading to their own summer replacement television series, Dean Martin Presents the Golddiggers, which aired from June 20, 1968. The Golddiggers performed on various TV programs, live venues, and three of Bob Hope's Christmas tours with the USO. They released three albums: The Golddiggers (1969), We Need A Little Christmas (1969), and Today! (1971). The group disbanded in 1992 due to financial issues but reformed in 2007. Several original members continued performing as the Golddiggers, while others pursued solo careers or joined different acts.
