After leaving the band Receiving End of Sirens, he began the project in 2005, recording the demo Dear Ms. Leading and circulating it among friends. The breakthrough came with the 2006 release of the concept album Act I: The Lake South, The River North, which established the series’ narrative and led to a partnership with Triple Crown Records. Subsequent albums: Act II: The Meaning of, and All Things Regarding Ms. Leading (2007), Act III: Life and Death (2009), The Color Spectrum (2011), Migrant (2013), Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise (2015), Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional (2016), Antimai (2022), and Sunya (2026), expanded the saga, introduced orchestral collaborations, and produced singles such as "The Church and the Dime" and "The Glass Desert I – Giants". The band achieved chart success, with Act IV debuting at number 39 on the Billboard 200, and has toured extensively with acts like Thrice and Gavin Castleton.
