Biography

The Deadlights, an American alternative metal band from California, was formed in 1998 by singer and guitarist Wilfred "Duke" Collins and drummer Jimmy Falcone. The group, which also included bassist Jerry Montano and guitarist Billy Roan, took its name from Stephen King's novel It. In 1999, after playing with other California bands like System of a Down and Coal Chamber, The Deadlights signed with Elektra Records. Their self-titled debut album, produced by Sylvia Massey, was released on 2000. That same year, they performed at Ozzfest. In early 2001, Elektra Records dropped the band, leading to their dissolution shortly thereafter. Collins passed away from a heroin overdose in 2015 and in his honor, the remaining members held a concert on March 19, 2016, in Santa Ana with Sean De La Tour of Death Division filling Collins' role.
