The Angelic Process, an American metal band from Athens, Georgia, was formed in 1999 by Kris Angylus. The duo consisted of Kris Angylus (vocals, guitar, drums) and Monica Dragynfly (bass, backing vocals). They released their debut album ...And Your Blood Is Full of Honey in 2001 and Coma Waering in 2003. Dragynfly joined the band in 2005, and they played their first live concerts in January 2006. The Angelic Process released their album, Weighing Souls with Sand, in 2007. In October 2007, the band entered an indefinite hiatus due to a serious hand injury sustained by Angylus. Kris Angylus died from suicide on April 26, 2008 at age 29. Monica Dragynfly passed away on her birthday, April 1, 2023, at age 46. The band was noted for their contributions to the ambient drone metal subgenre and their concept albums that explore themes of death and loss.
