The Lucy Show was a rock and new wave band formed in London, England, in early 1983. Initially known as Midnite Movie, the group was formed by Mark Bandola, Rob Vandeven, and Paul Rigby. Following Rigby's departure, Pete Barraclough and Bryan Hudspeth were added to the lineup, and the band changed its name to The Lucy Show. Their first single, "Leonardo da Vinci", was released in 1983 on Shout Records. In 1984, A&M Records signed them and released two singles and an EP on its offshoot label, Piggy Bank Records. They supported R.E.M. on their 1984 UK tour. The band's debut album, ...undone, was released in 1985 and reached Number 1 on the CMJ album charts in the United States. In 1986, they signed to Big Time Records, releasing their second album, Mania. Produced by John Leckie, it featured a more upbeat sound and reached Number 1 on the CMJ charts again. Notable singles from this album included "A Million Things" and "New Message". The Lucy Show released one final single, "Wherever Your Heart Will Go", in 1988 before disbanding permanently.
