Biography
Tenniscoats is a Japanese avant-garde folk group consisting of Saya and Takashi Ueno. Their debut album, The Theme of Tenniscoats, was released in 2000. Throughout the 2000s, they released several albums including We Are Everyone (2004) and Totemo Aimasho (2007). In 2008, Saya collaborated with Satomi of Deerhoof on a one-off project called OneOne. Tenniscoats have collaborated extensively with other artists such as Secai and The Pastels. Their album Tan-Tan Therapy was released in 2007, followed by notable collaborations like Two Sunsets (2009) with The Pastels and All Aboard! (2012) with Ikuro Takahashi. In 2016, they played at the Alien Disko festival in Munich.
