Biography

Tashaki Miyaki, an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2011. The group initially began as a recording project and released their first EP Tashak It To Me later that year. Their early work garnered attention from notable publications such as The Guardian and NME for its paisley underground/dream pop-inspired sound. In 2017, Tashaki Miyaki released their debut LP The Dream, produced by Paige Stark, on Metropolis Records. This album featured an expanded sound with lush string arrangements and included the track "Get It Right," which was played by Frank Ocean on his Beats 1 Radio show Blonded Radio. The band went on to release Castaway in 2021, which received favorable reviews, including a four out of five star rating from The Guardian. Tashaki Miyaki has also contributed to recordings and production for other artists, notably Cherry Glazerr and L.A. Witch.
