Tasha VietsâVanLear, mostly known as Tasha, was born on Augustâ¯26â¯1993 in Chicago, Illinois, and is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. Raised in the Albany Park neighborhood, she developed an early love for theater and poetry while attending Northside College Preparatory High School and later St.â¯Olaf College; after returning to Chicago she worked with Black Youth Projectâ¯100. Tasha VietsâVanLear debuted with the EP Divine Love in 2016, which addressed both political activism and selfâlove. Her first studio album, Alone at Last, followed in 2018 under Father/Daughter Records, preceded by the single "New Place". Tasha released Tellâ¯Meâ¯Whatâ¯Youâ¯Missâ¯theâ¯Most in 2021, and in Septemberâ¯2024 her third album All This and So Much More was issued through Bayonet Records. In 2026, she returned with her signature blend of laid-back indie soft rock on You Are Spring!
