Biography

Ratboys, an indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois, U.S., was formed in 2010 by Julia Steiner and Dave Sagan while studying at Notre Dame. They released their debut album AOID in 2015 on Topshelf Records after moving to Chicago. Sean Neumann joined as a full-time member in 2016, followed by Marcus Nuccio in 2017. Their second album, GN, was released in 2017 and received critical acclaim from outlets like Rolling Stone and Uproxx. The band's third studio album, Printer’s Devil, was released in 2020 and praised by MTV and Pitchfork. In 2021, they celebrated their 10-year anniversary with the release of Happy Birthday, Ratboy. Their fifth studio album, The Window, was released on August 25, 2023, through Topshelf Records. The band signed to New West Records in September 2025 and announced their sixth album, Singin’ to an Empty Chair, set for release on February 6, 2026.
