Rayland Baxter, born on September 26, 1983, is an American alternative country musician. He excelled as a lacrosse player in high school and attended several prestigious institutions before pursuing music full-time. His career began in 2010 when he was featured on "Shanghai Cigarettes" by Caitlin Rose. In 2012, Baxter released his debut album, Feathers & Fishhooks, via ATO Records, followed by the EP Ashkelon in 2013. His second studio album, Imaginary Man, was released in 2015. Subsequent albums include Wide Awake (2018), a cover album of Mac Miller songs titled Good Mmornin' (2019), and his fourth full-length album, If I Were a Butterfly (2022). Baxter's music spans country and alternative genres.
