Biography

SWMRS, originally known as Emily's Army, was formed in 2004 in Piedmont, California by Cole Becker and Joey Armstrong, with Max Becker joining a few weeks later. The band initially drew on influences ranging from the Beach Boys to the Ramones. They released their first album, Don't Be a Dick, on June 14, 2011 through Adeline Records. After releasing their second album under the name Emily's Army, Lost at Seventeen (June 11, 2013), they changed their name to SWMRS. Their third album, Drive North (February 12, 2016), was the first under the new name. The re-release of Drive North in October 2016 marked their signing with Fueled by Ramen. In February 2019, they released their second album under the SWMRS name, Berkeley's on Fire.
