Biography

Svart Crown was a French extreme metal group from Saint-Tropez formed in December 2004 by Jean-Baptiste Le Bail. The ensemble performed a blend of black metal and death metal. Le Bail self-produced the group's debut EP, Bloody Crown, in 2005. In 2008, the band signed with Rupture Music and released its second studio album, Ages of Decay. The group recruited Gaël Barthélémy and Clément Flandrois in 2010 before signing with Listenable Records and releasing Witnessing the Fall. Svart Crown performed at the Hellfest festival and toured with Septic Flesh and Ulcerate. The group released the album Profane in 2013. Following a signing with Century Media Records in 2016, the band released the recordings Abreaction (2017) and Wolves Among the Ashes (2020). The final studio album, Les Terres brûlées, appeared in June 2022. The ensemble became inactive in June 2022 following a performance at Hellfest.
