Biography

STEMM is an American heavy metal band from Niagara Falls, New York, formed in June 1998 by Joe Cafarella, Jimi Penque, Russ Martin, and Louis Penque. Alex Scouten was also in the original lineup. Their debut album Dead to Me was released around 2000-2002. The band merged with Buffalo band 5 Years Gone around 2003/2004, adding Danny Nelligan, Stephen Crowl, and TJ Frost. The band released Songs for the Incurable Heart in November 2005 and Blood Scent on November 11, 2008. They released the album Crossroads in September 2011. STEMM performed on Jägermeister Tours, opening for acts like Hatebreed, Chimaira, and Godsmack. They played the last full show of Dimebag Darrell (Pantera/Damageplan) before his murder. The band began a hiatus on December 1, 2012.
