Ètefan Iordache, born in 1941 in Calafat, Dolj County, Kingdom of Romania, was a Romanian actor and singer. He spent his childhood in Calafat before moving to the Rahova neighborhood of Bucharest. After failing admission into medical school, he worked as an accountant and later enrolled at the I.L. Caragiale Institute of Theatre and Film Arts (IATC). His music career focused on muzicÄ uÈoarÄ (Romanian light music/pop music). In 2007, he released his album Magazinul meu de vise. Throughout his career, Ètefan Iordache was recognized for his contributions to Romanian cinema. He received the National Order of Faithful Service in 2000 and was voted the best actor in Romania in 2006. Iordache passed away in 2008 in Vienna, Austria, and was buried with military honors in Gruiu, Ilfov County.
