Stéphan Forté is a French guitarist and composer born on 16 November 1978 in Montpellier. He began playing the guitar at age five and pursued a professional career after discovering the music of Yngwie Malmsteen at fourteen. Forté received formal training at the CMCN in Nancy and released his first instrumental demo, âVisionsâ, in 1996. He founded the progressive metal band Adagio and released their debut studio album, Sanctus Ignis, in 2001. Forté is the primary composer for the group, which issued subsequent albums including Underworld in 2003 and Dominate in 2006. On Dominate, he expanded his role by performing extreme vocals. In 2011, he released his first solo studio album, The Shadows Compendium, featuring guests such as Phil Campbell. Forté launched his own record label, Zeta Nemesis, in 2014 to release his second solo project, Enigma Opera Black. He continued his work with Adagio, releasing the studio album Life in 2017.
