Biography
Stany Band is a Peruvian cumbia/tropical orchestra associated with songwriter and bandleader Estanis Mogollón Benites, a Máncora, Piuraâborn composer widely credited with helping push the modern boom of cumbia norteña in Peru. Formed in 2007, Stany Band appeared with releases cataloged from the early 2010s onward, including the album Cumbias Para Bailar (2012) and later titles such as Inspiración en su voz (2020). In 2021, the group issued the EP Canciones De Siempre and also backed the album 18 Años de Música (2021) credited to singer Mathias Colmenares, tying the band to a broader circuit of northern Peruvian cumbia vocalists. Their repertoire circulated heavily through live takes and medleys, and in 2024â2025 they leaned into that concert identity with singles like âEnamoradoâ (2024) and the live-focused set Sesión en Vivo (En Vivo) (2025), which included their breakthrough hit song âAcábame.â
