Biography

Sounds of New Soma, a German rock band from Krefeld, was formed in 2013 by Dirk Raupach and Alexander Djelassi. Their music, originally characterized as "spacey and ambient Krautrock electronic spheres", also evolved to incorporating elements of jazz and post-rock. The duo released their debut album Beyond the Acid Dream in 2014 through Tonzonen Records, which had been founded by Raupach a year earlier. The album featured guest saxophone contributions from Andreas Lessenich and mastering by Eroc. Subsequent releases include Moebius Tunnel in 2016, La Grande Bellezza in 2017, and Live at the Green Mushroom Festival in 2018. This was also followed by albums such as Nachdenken Ã¼ber Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser (2019), Trip (2021), and Musique Bizarre (2022).
