Biography
Canadian pop singer Sofia Camara was born in Terceira Island, Portugal, on May 21, 2002. After settling down with her family in Toronto's West End, she began singing as a pre-teen inspired by pop luminaries such as Ariana Grande, Adele, and Christina Aguilera. Over the next few years, her growing interest in rock music led her to take guitar, bass, and piano lessons. In 2017, she started her video-streaming channel, in which she posted videos of herself performing songs by John Legend, Miley Cyrus, and many other established artists. The popularity of her channel helped the up-and-coming singer grow a substantial online following and gain enough leverage to release her debut single "Without You" in 2021. Later that year, she managed to land a deal with 21 Entertainment Group / Universal Music Canada, who released her second single "Never Be Yours" in 2022. Produced by the Montreal-based duo Banx & Ranx, "Never Be Yours" entered the Canada's CHR chart at Number 49.
