Biography
The Swedish pop and folk duo known as Smith & Thell was formed in 2012 in Helsingborg and is comprised of vocalist Maria Jane Smith and guitarist and singer Victor Thell. After recording a handful of singles throughout 2013 and 2014 the band began to gain recognition with the release of 'Statue' in 2015. The track won the duo a Denniz Pop Award for Rookie Artist of the Year and a year later they won the Musexpo Award for New Emerging International Artist at an awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
To date the duo have recorded just one studio album, 'Soulprints', which was released in 2017. Their most successful single has been 'Forgive Me Friend' which came out in 2018 and was a number one hit in Poland earning a platinum certification in the process.
