Biography

Slaughter & the Dogs, a punk rock band from Wythenshawe, Manchester, United Kingdom, formed in 1975. The group was one of the earliest British punk bands to sign with a major label, Decca Records. Their breakthrough moment came in July 1976 when they performed at Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall alongside the Sex Pistols. Slaughter & the Dogs released their single, "Cranked Up Really High", in 1977 on Rabid Records, which later became a classic of punk rock. Their debut album, Do It Dog Style, was published in 1978. The band disbanded after releasing an EP in March 1979. In 2015, Slaughter & the Dogs celebrated their 40th anniversary with a special concert featuring the original lineup. They released their studio album, Vicious, in 2016.
