Biography

Skeletal Remains, an American death metal band from Whittier, California, was formed in May 2011 by guitarist and vocalist Chris Monroy, guitarist Mike De La O, and drummer Chris Reyes. Initially known as Anthropophagy, the group recorded their debut demo Desolate Isolation in June 2011, which included three original tracks and a cover of Pestilence's "Chronic Infection". Following the departure of De La O during recording, Monroy and Reyes completed the remaining guitar parts. The band then added bassist Adrius Marquez and guitarist Adrian Obregon before renaming themselves Skeletal Remains. Their first album, Beyond the Flesh, was released in November 2012 via FDA Rekotz/Soulfood, followed by Condemned to Misery in August 2015. The band achieved their first chart success with Devouring Mortality in April 2018, which reached number 96 on the German album charts. In 2024, Skeletal Remains released Fragments of the Ageless under Century Media Records.
