Biography

Monstrosity is an American death metal ensemble formed in 1990 in Fort Lauderdale. The group's original lineup consisted of vocalist George Fisher, guitarist Jon Rubin, bassist Mark Van Erp, and drummer Lee Harrison. After signing with the label Nuclear Blast, the ensemble released its debut studio recording, Imperial Doom, in 1992. The band followed with the album Millennium (1996), which featured the final performance by Fisher before he joined the group Cannibal Corpse. Vocalist Jason Avery joined for the recordings In Dark Purity (1999) and Rise to Power (2003). The ensemble performed at the Brutal Assault festival in 2009. In 2007, the band released the recording Spiritual Apocalypse, featuring vocalist Mike Hrubovcak. Its discography also included the live DVD Live Apocalypse (2012) and the studio recording The Passage of Existence (2018).
