Biography

Born in France to Franco-American parents who introduced her to music, Silja (née Celia Gruss) grew up between Paris, London, Washington and Los Angeles, then studied at Berklee College Of Music in Boston, before signing to Remark Records in 1993. Her first three singles, "How Could I Find Love", "Time For Eternity " and " Flesh And Fire", got her off to a flying start in the dance world of the time. Between 1998 and 2000, Silja changed direction, signing with Warner Records and releasing a more pop-rock album of the same name, featuring the singles "J'efface et j'oublie" and "J'arrête de fumer". Silja went on to appear with the group Nouvelle Vague, write songs for a children's book, and write TV commercials.
