Biography

No Mercy formed in 1995 in Miami, Florida. Combining American pop influences with the club-friendly rhythms of Eurodance, the group earned its first taste of success in Germany and Sweden, where No Mercy's cover of Everything But The Girl's "Missing" became a Top 20 hit. Released in 1995, that debut single was followed by "Where Do You Go," the first single from the group's debut album. "Where Do You Go" was a success in the US, where it reached Number 5 and doubled as the theme song for the television show Lois and Clark. It expanded the band's popularity overseas, too, reaching the Top 5 in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, Austria, and France. No Mercy's debut album was released in October 1996 under two different titles: My Promise in Europe and the self-titled No Mercy in America. Reaching Number 17 in the UK and Number 104 in the US, the record scored a handful of additional hits on both sides of the Atlantic, including "When I Die" and "Please Don't Go." After its release, bandmates Marty Cintron, Ariel Hernandez, and Gabriel Hernandez began focusing exclusively on their European market with 1998's More, which reached Number 7 in Germany and Number 9 in Austria. Following a long hiatus, the pop trio reunited in the mid-2000s for 2007's Day By Day and 2011's stand-alone single "Shed My Skin."
