Biography

Shy Nobleman, born Shay Nobelman on July 2, 1974, in Ramat Gan, Israel, is a singer known for his contributions to indie pop and psychedelic rock. He began his music career in 1995 as the bassist for the Israeli rock band Mofa Ha'arnavot Shel Dr. Kasper. After the band dissolved, Nobleman moved to London and formed the band Oracle, joining the mods and garage rock scene. In 2000, he returned to Tel Aviv and recorded his debut album How to Be Shy, which was named Album of the Year in Israel and recognized by Rolling Stone as one of the ten best albums of 2001. The following year, he toured extensively in the USA, performing with bands like Of Montreal and at venues including CBGB. In 2005, Nobleman released his second album Beautiful Life, featuring collaborations with Monotonix and Useless ID, which became a top-ten album in Israel. The album produced the Top Ten singles "Girlfriend" and "Baby in the Rain."
