Shruti Sadolikar Katkar is an Indian classical singer born on 9 November 1951 in Kolhapur. She began her musical training in the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana under the guidance of her father, Wamanrao Sadolikar, before studying with Gulubhai Jasdanwala for twelve years. She later earned a master's degree from SNDT Women's University in Mumbai with a thesis on Haveli Sangeet. Sadolikar Katkar is a performer of the khyal style as well as thumri and tappa, having toured internationally in Canada, France, and the United States. In 1999, she produced the play Sangeet Tulsidas and has performed as a playback singer for Indian films. She received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Hindustani vocal music in 2011. Between 2009 and 2020, she served as the Vice Chancellor of the Bhatkhande Music Institute University in Lucknow. Her tenure concluded following student protests and accusations that led to her dismissal from the post.
