Biography

Showbiz and A.G. is an American hip hop duo from The Bronx, New York City, composed of record producer Rodney "Showbiz" Lemay and rapper Andre "A.G." Barnes. They formed in 1990 after appearing on Lord Finesse's Funky Technician album with the song "Back to Back Rhyming". Their debut release was the extended play Soul Clap, self-released in late 1991 via their own independent record label, Showbiz Records. The duo signed with Payday/London Records and re-released the EP as "Party Groove"/"Soul Clap" in 1992. Their debut studio album, Runaway Slave, was released in 1992, featuring guest appearances from Diamond D, Lord Finesse, Dres, and Big L. In 1993, Showbiz produced KRS-One's single "Sound of da Police". The duo's second studio album. Goodfellas was released in 1995, featuring contributions from artists like DJ Premier and Method Man.
