Biography
Shirin David comes from the northern city of Hamburg, where she was born on April 11, 1995 as Barbara Schirin DavidaviÄius to a Lithuanian mother and an Iranian father. She trained in dance, singing and acting at the Hamburg Youth Opera Academy and then took part in several works at the Hamburg Opera. the rapper and singer began her career on social media in 2014. Millions of people subscribe to her channels. Together with the German R&B singer Ado Kojo, she covered the song "Du liebst mich nicht" and reached the top 10 of the singles charts in Germany. She was one of the judges on the 14th season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar in 2017. In 2019, Shirin David released her debut album Supersize. The single "Gib Ihm" reached number one in the German singles charts in February of the same year. The song "On Off" is a collaboration with the Congolese rapper Maître Gims and the song "Nur mit dir" is a collaboration with the German R&B singer Xavier Naidoo. Shirin David was awarded the Bambi in the Shooting Star category in November 2019 for her rapid rise to fame. She reached number one in the German singles charts again in spring 2020 with the single "90-60-111". The second album Bitches brauchen Rap was released in 2021, the two singles "Ich darf das" and "Lieben wir" were an absolute hit and climbed to first place in the charts in Germany. The song "Be a Hoe/Break a Hoe" from the album Bitches brauchen Rap is a collaboration with German rapper Kitty Kat and is also a number one hit. Together with Helene Fischer, she records a new version of the Fischer hit "Atemlos durch die Nacht" in 2023. The song reaches number 1 in the German singles charts. In 2024, she achieves another number 1 hit in Germany and Austria with the single "Bauch Beine Po". At the beginning of 2025, the single "Atzen & Barbies" (together with Ski Aggu) reaches number 3 in the German charts. At the same time, the song announces the album Schlau aber blond, which will be released in February 2025.
