Biography
Severe Torture, a Dutch death metal band, was formed in 1997 by drummer Seth van de Loo, bassist Patrick Boleij and guitarist Thijs van Laarhoven. The group released their first demo tape, Baptized..., in 1998. After several lineup changes, including the addition of Dennis Schreurs, Severe Torture signed with Hammerheart Records and released their debut album, Feasting On Blood, in October 2000. The band toured extensively throughout Europe and North America, playing notable festivals such as No Mercy and Ohio Death Fest. In 2005, they signed with Earache Records and released Fall of the Despised. Following this, Severe Torture continued to release albums including Sworn Vengeance (2007) and Slaughtered (2010).
