Biography

Sargant Fury was a German hard rock band formed in Hannover in 1987. The group initially consisted of Bauke De Groot on bass, Olaf Grosser and Kai Steffen on guitars, and Heiko Heike on drums. Their demo United States of Europe (1990) attracted Andrew "Mac" McDermott, who joined as the vocalist. Sargant Fury released their debut album, Still Want More, in 1991, which led to support slots with bands like Thunderhead and Ian Gillan. Their second album, Little Fish (1993), featured a cover of Abba's "Eagle" but had modest sales. After De Groot’s departure, Sargant Fury released their final album, Turn the Page, in 1995, which included covers of "Maniac" by Michael Sembello and "Can't Get Enough" by Bad Company. The band disbanded later that year. In 2009, a box set titled Do You Remember: The Anthology compiled all three of Sargant Fury's studio albums.
