Biography
Sara Watkins is an American singer-songwriter and fiddle player who found success with her brother Sean Watkins and Chris Thile in the group Nickel Creek in 2000. Born in Santa Monica, California, she had started to perform professionally in 1989 and when Nickel Creek went on hiatus she made her solo debut with a self-titled album in 2009. 'Sun Midnight Sun' followed in 2012 and went to number eleven on Billboard's Americana/Folk Albums Chart. 'Young in All the Wrong Ways' came out in 2016 and reached number seven on the Americana Chart and number ten on the Independent Albums Chart.
She has collaborated with several other artists and toured with Jerry Douglas and Aly Bain and The Decemberists plus Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O'Donovan as the group I'm With Her. She performs with her brother as the Watkins Family in Los Angeles and they toured with artists such as Jon Brion, Fiona Apple, Don Heffington and Greg Leisz in 2015.
