Biography

Warfare was a British heavy metal band from Newcastle upon Tyne, formed in 1982 by Paul "Evo" Evans on drums and vocals, Falken on bass, and Gunner on guitars. In 1984, Warfare released two singles, with the second featuring a cover of "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood and an EP, followed by their debut album Pure Filth. Their second album, Metal Anarchy, was produced by Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead in 1985. In 1986, the band released their third album, Mayhem Fuckin' Mayhem (Hardcore '87). After a series of lineup changes and label shifts, Warfare disbanded in 1993. Notable post-breakup releases include the compilation Metal Anarchy – The Best of Warfare (2002) and The Songbook of Filth (2021).
