Rodrigo Amado, born July 15, 1964 in Lisbon, Portugal, is a saxophonist known for his work in jazz and improvisational music. He started playing saxophone at 17, studying briefly at Hot Clube de Portugal's music school. Amado's career began in Lisbon's improvisation scene, collaborating with artists like Sei Miguel, Ken Filiano, and Taylor Ho Bynum. In 2001, he co-founded Clean Feed Records, later establishing European Echoes in 2005. Notable projects include the Lisbon Improvisation Players and Motion Trio. Amado's album "Burning Live" was highlighted by All About Jazz in 2012 as one of the best new releases of that year. He has released several albums, including The Space Between (2003), Searching For Adam (2010), and This Is Our Language (2015).
