Biography
Initially known as Labelle, the award-winning Canadian country band River Town Saints formed in 2013 in Arnprior, Ontario. Frontman Chris Labelle, guitarist Chris McComb, guitarist Jeremy Bortot, bassist Daniel DiGiacomo, and drummer Jordan Potvin comprised the group's original lineup, and River Town Saints began playing local shows in the Ottawa Valley in 2014. "A Little Bit Goes a Long Way," the band's debut single, was released in 2015 and began climbing Billboard's Canada Country chart in early 2016, eventually peaking at Number 31. A number of Top 40 hits followed, with "Cherry Bomb" climbing to Number 24 and the 2017 single "Bonfire" rising all the way to Number 9. River Town Saints, the band's self-titled debut album, was released that summer, and "Cherry Bomb" was named "Single of the Year" at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards later in the year. River Town Saints continued their streak of Top 40 successes with "Woke Up Like This" and "You Get to Me," both of which helped the band win "Best New Group" at the 2018 Canadian Radio Music Awards. Tragedy struck in 2019, when Daniel DiGiacomo died of a blood clot and Chris Labelle left the group in order to launch a solo career. River Town Saints pressed onward, tapping Joe Patrois as the group's new singer and Chase Kasner as Labell's replacement. The revised group released a new single, "Long Time Coming," in 2021.
