Rhys Maria Clarstedt Frank, known mononymously as Rhys, was born on October 27, 1997, in Portland, Oregon. She moved to Stockholm at age ten and showed early interest in arts and music. At 18, she met producer Jörgen Elofsson, leading to her debut single "Swallow Your Pride" in November 2016. In February 2017, Rhys followed with another single, "Last Dance," and performed at various Swedish television shows and festivals. On September 28, 2018, she released her debut album Stages.
